Continuing his tradition of wearing vibrant and symbolic turbans on national occasions, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sported a striking red and yellow Bandhani turban for the 76th Republic Day celebrations. The colorful headgear added a festive touch to the event, reflecting India's cultural diversity.

The Prime Minister paired his Bandhani turban with a classic white kurta-pyjama, complemented by a brown bandhgala jacket and a neatly folded pocket square. His ensemble was first seen when he visited the National War Memorial to pay homage to the bravehearts who laid down their lives for the nation. After the tribute, he proceeded to Kartavya Path to attend the Republic Day parade.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Modi extended his greetings to the nation, emphasizing the significance of the Constitution and the democratic principles it upholds. In a message shared on X, he stated, "As we celebrate the 75th anniversary of our republic, we honor the visionaries who framed our Constitution, ensuring our growth is rooted in democracy, dignity, and unity. May this celebration inspire us to build a stronger, more prosperous India."

Known for his flair for distinctive turbans, PM Modi has made colorful headpieces a hallmark of his Republic Day and Independence Day appearances since taking office in 2014. This year’s Bandhani turban continues the tradition, showcasing India’s rich heritage and craftsmanship.

For the 74th Republic Day last year, the Prime Minister also opted for a Rajasthani Bandhani turban, underscoring his consistent celebration of the country’s cultural tapestry through his attire.
