Princess Kate brought a regal touch to the London premiere of Digger on Tuesday, arriving on the red carpet alongside Prince William and Hollywood star Tom Cruise.
The Princess of Wales opted for a striking purple Jenny Packham gown, a design dating back to 2016 that she had not previously been seen wearing in public.
She paired the dramatic evening look with historic jewellery from the royal collection, including an amethyst necklace associated with the late Queen Mother and pearl-and-diamond earrings once worn by Princess Diana.
Kate's floor-length gown stood out for its rich purple hue and flowing silhouette.
Made from lightweight silk chiffon, the dress featured a deep V neckline with fine pleating running vertically across the bodice. The detailed fabric gathered around the waist, creating a defined shape before opening into a flowing skirt.
The gown's sheer sleeves added another layer to the look. Their loose, flowing design created volume around the arms before narrowing into structured cuffs at the wrists.
From the waist down, the chiffon fell into a full A-line skirt that extended to the floor, giving the ensemble a classic red-carpet finish.
The Princess of Wales complemented the gown with a statement amethyst-and-pearl necklace featuring multiple strands and a distinctive heart-shaped pendant surrounded by diamonds.
The piece has a long history within the British royal family.
According to reports, the necklace was presented to Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon, the future Queen Mother, by Queen Alexandra as a wedding gift in 1923. She received it when she married the Duke of York, who later became King George VI.
The jewellery reflects the popular sautoir style of the 1920s and is now more than a century old.
Kate also wore Princess Diana's Collingwood pearl drop earrings, adding another significant royal connection to her ensemble.
The earrings were reportedly given to Diana as a wedding gift in 1981 by Collingwood Jewellers, a name closely associated with the late princess.
Kate finished the look with a Jimmy Choo clutch and matching heels, keeping the accessories understated while allowing the purple gown and historic jewellery to take centre stage.
The appearance once again brought together two recurring elements of Kate's formal wardrobe — contemporary British fashion and pieces with a connection to the royal family's history.
