03-12-2024India’s badminton ace and double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu is set to embark on a new journey as she prepares to marry Hyderabad-based businessman Venkata Datta Sai, Executive Director of Posidex Technologies. The wedding, scheduled for December 22, will take place in the scenic city of Udaipur, with grand yet elegant celebrations beginning on December 20.
Sindhu’s family has confirmed that a reception will follow in Hyderabad on December 24. The wedding date has been chosen strategically to ensure the 29-year-old can resume her badminton training in January, with an important international season ahead.
Speaking about the decision, Sindhu’s father, PV Ramana, shared, "The two families have known each other for a while, but everything was finalised only recently. December was the only possible window, as Sindhu’s schedule will become hectic from January."
PV Sindhu is one of India’s most decorated athletes, having carved a remarkable legacy in badminton. She has clinched five World Championship medals, including a historic gold in 2019. Her Olympic achievements include a silver medal at the Rio 2016 Games and a bronze at Tokyo 2020. Ranked as high as World No. 2 in 2017, she has consistently been a force to reckon with in international badminton.
Recently, Sindhu ended her title drought with a victory at the Syed Modi International in Lucknow, signaling her return to top form and readiness for the challenges ahead.
Udaipur, known as the City of Lakes, provides a picturesque setting for Sindhu’s wedding. The pre-wedding festivities are expected to be a blend of grandeur and elegance, befitting the occasion. Fans and supporters are thrilled to celebrate the special milestone of one of India’s most beloved sports icons.
