Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu tied the knot with her fiancé, Venkata Datta Sai, in a traditional wedding ceremony on Sunday in Udaipur. The couple, dressed in elegant wedding attire, exchanged vows in the presence of close family members and friends. Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Culture and Tourism Minister of Jodhpur, attended the wedding and shared the first picture of the event on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

In his post, Shekhawat expressed his happiness, saying, "Pleased to have attended the wedding ceremony of our Badminton Champion Olympian PV Sindhu with Venkatta Datta Sai in Udaipur last evening and conveyed my wishes & blessings to the couple for their new life ahead."

Sindhu and Datta, who is an Executive Director at Posidex Technologies in Hyderabad, had gotten engaged just a day before the wedding on Saturday. The couple's wedding celebrations began with a Sangeet on December 20, followed by Haldi, Pellikuthuru, and Mehendi ceremonies the next day.

Sindhu’s father shared that both families were already well acquainted, but the wedding plans came together within a month. The couple chose this time for the wedding as Sindhu will soon be busy with training and upcoming competitions starting next year.

As part of the celebrations, the couple will host a reception in Sindhu's hometown of Hyderabad on December 24.

In recent sports news, Sindhu ended her two-year drought at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) World Tour by winning the Syed Modi India International tournament in Lucknow. She defeated China's Wu Luo Yu in the finals, claiming victory with a 21-14, 21-16 scoreline in 47 minutes. This marked her first BWF World Tour title since the Singapore Open in 2022.
