Raghav Chadha Shares Parliament Speeches After AAP Replaces Him as Rajya Sabha Deputy Leader
The AAP MP posted a video compilation of his interventions in the Upper House shortly after being removed from the party’s leadership role
02-04-2026Hours after the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) formally moved to replace him as its deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, party MP Raghav Chadha released a video highlighting his speeches and participation in the Upper House.
The montage showcases the 37-year-old parliamentarian speaking on diverse public issues, including air pollution, soaring flight fares, rights of gig economy workers, and concerns over the 28-day validity period for prepaid mobile plans. Chadha, who entered the Rajya Sabha in May 2022, shared the video without a written message, posting only a nazar amulet emoji — a symbol widely regarded in several cultures as protection against negative energy.
Earlier, the AAP had submitted a communication to the Rajya Sabha Secretariat requesting that Chadha be relieved of his responsibilities as the party’s deputy leader in the House. The party nominated Punjab MP Ashok Mittal as his successor.
The development triggered talk of internal disagreements within the Arvind Kejriwal-led party. However, AAP leaders described the decision as part of a routine reshuffle, stating that leadership roles should rotate to give more members an opportunity.
In its correspondence, the party also indicated that Chadha should not be allocated speaking slots from AAP’s designated time quota in the Rajya Sabha.
