Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospital in Chennai late Monday night, where he is scheduled to undergo a heart-related procedure on Tuesday. According to hospital sources, his condition is stable, though there has been no official statement from the hospital or his family at this time.

The 76-year-old actor has been busy with two major film projects — Vettaiyan, directed by Gnanavel Raja and set for release on October 10, and Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Rajinikanth had returned to Chennai only a few days prior.

A decade ago, Rajinikanth underwent a kidney transplant in Singapore. More recently, he decided against entering politics, citing health concerns.
