Superstar Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospitals in Chennai on October 3 around 11 PM after undergoing an elective heart procedure to address swelling in a blood vessel. The medical bulletin stated that a stent was successfully placed in his aorta using a transcatheter method. Rajinikanth was monitored for two days following the procedure, which took place on October 1.
Sources indicate that doctors have advised him to rest for a couple of weeks. He is anticipated to resume filming for director Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie once he receives medical clearance.
Fans of Rajinikanth expressed their joy at the news of his discharge, sending their best wishes for a speedy recovery.
On October 1, Apollo Hospitals released a bulletin detailing Rajinikanth's condition. The statement read: "Mr. Rajinikanth was admitted to Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road, on September 30, 2024. He had swelling in the main blood vessel leaving his heart (Aorta), which was treated by a non-surgical transcatheter method. Senior Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Sai Satish placed a stent in the aorta to completely seal off the swelling (Endovascular Repair). We would like to inform his well-wishers and fans that the procedure went as planned. Mr. Rajinikanth is stable and doing well. He should be home in two days (sic)."
Looking ahead, Rajinikanth will star in director TJ Gnanavel's Vettaiyan, set to release in theaters on October 10, generating significant excitement among fans. The commercial entertainer also features notable actors such as Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, and Ritika Singh in key roles.
Rajinikanth has been working on Coolie for the past few weeks and recently completed a filming schedule in Visakhapatnam before returning to Chennai for the audio launch of Vettaiyan on September 20.
