Actor Kareena Kapoor Khan recently revealed that her parents, veteran actors Randhir Kapoor and Babita, have chosen to reunite in their later years after spending decades living apart. While the couple never legally separated, they had been living individually for much of their lives. Their decision to come together again has been a deeply emotional moment for their daughters, Kareena and Karisma Kapoor.
Speaking in an interview with Mojo Story, Kareena reflected on this personal milestone. “Everyone believes their parents are the best—and I truly feel mine are,” she said. “They’ve now decided to grow old together, hand in hand, just like they began their journey many years ago. For Karisma and me, it feels like a beautiful full circle.”
The actress described the reunion as a meaningful and almost spiritual moment for the family. “It feels like something divine has happened,” Kareena added. “Both of them have always supported us. My father has been incredibly encouraging of my choices, and my mother has always been the backbone of our upbringing.”
Reflecting on her mother’s pivotal role in their lives, Kareena recalled how Babita stood strong when Karisma became the first Kapoor daughter to enter Bollywood. “Our mother was our primary parent, and she did everything she could to raise us with strength and grace,” Kareena said.
Randhir and Babita's love story began during their early acting days. Their relationship blossomed on film sets, including during the making of Kal Aaj Aur Kal. However, after marriage, differences emerged—especially around career expectations. Babita eventually stepped back from acting, and the couple grew apart.
In 1988, Babita moved out of their family home with her two daughters. Although they chose to live separately, the pair never pursued divorce and continued to be seen together at family events, reflecting mutual respect despite their distance.
On the work front, Kareena is gearing up for her next film, Daayra, directed by Meghna Gulzar and co-starring Prithviraj Sukumaran.
