On Thursday, actor-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a CISF personnel at Chandigarh airport. Following the incident, Ranaut issued a statement assuring the public of her safety. In response, Raveena Tandon, who recently received a clean chit in a road rage case, strongly condemned the violence against women.

Today, on June 7, Raveena Tandon took to Instagram to address the rising violence against women and children. In her heartfelt post, she wrote, "In a world where public scrutiny is relentless, it is essential to remember that women achievers are human too. Disparaging them solely for their fame is unfair and harmful." She continued, "This increasing violence against women and children worldwide needs to be addressed urgently. It’s time we stand united against violence and hooliganism."

The CISF constable involved in the incident was identified as Kulwinder Kaur. According to the Hindustan Times, she was detained and subsequently suspended after Kangana Ranaut filed a complaint with CISF officials upon arriving at Indira Gandhi airport.

Kulwinder Kaur, the suspended airport security official, struck a defiant note on Friday, posting on X (formerly Twitter), "I am not afraid of losing this job... I am ready to lose thousands of such jobs for my mother's respect."

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram Stories to criticize the industry's silence on the incident. She wrote, "All eyes on Rafah Gang this can happen to you or your children as well…When you celebrate a terror attack on someone be ready for the day it comes back to you as well."

In her statement, Kangana assured everyone of her safety and questioned the "terrorism" in Punjab. She said, "Namastey dosto! I have been getting a lot of phone calls from the media and my well-wishers. I am safe, I am perfectly fine. What happened at the Chandigarh airport today was during the security check. When I left after the security check, the CISF personnel hit me on my face. She abused me. When I asked her why she did it, she told me that she supports farmers’ protests. I am safe but my concern is, how do we handle terror in Punjab?"

Kangana, running as a BJP candidate, recently won the Lok Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, defeating Congress’ veteran politician Vikramaditya Singh by a margin of over 74,000 votes.
