Indian cricketer Ravindra Jadeja announced his retirement from T20 international cricket on Sunday, following the footsteps of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who also retired from the format after India's T20 World Cup victory in Barbados.

Jadeja, renowned for his prowess as an all-rounder and exceptional fielding skills, shared the news on Instagram with a heartfelt message.

He expressed gratitude for the opportunity to represent his country and highlighted winning the T20 World Cup as a pinnacle moment in his T20I career.

Jadeja, who made his T20I debut against Sri Lanka in 2009, played 74 matches, scoring 515 runs and taking 54 wickets. Despite a below-par performance in the recent T20 World Cup, Jadeja affirmed his commitment to continue playing ODIs and Tests for India.

His retirement announcement follows Kohli and Sharma's decisions, marking the end of an era for these stalwarts in T20 internationals, shortly after securing India's second T20 World Cup title by defeating South Africa in the final.
