Veteran actor Anupam Kher shared a heartfelt tribute, remembering Nandy as a close friend and creative genius. Taking to social media, Kher wrote, "Shocked and deeply saddened by the passing of my dearest friend Pritish Nandy—an extraordinary poet, writer, filmmaker, and fearless journalist." He recalled Nandy’s support during his early days in Mumbai and described him as a "true friend" and a "source of strength." Kher also shared cherished memories, including the time Nandy featured him on the covers of Filmfare magazine and The Illustrated Weekly. “He was the definition of yaaron ka yaar! I will miss you, my friend,” Kher concluded.

Writer and actor Suhel Seth also paid homage, remembering his "harmless Twitter banters" with Nandy. “Deeply saddened by the loss of my dear friend. Travel well, Pritish,” Seth wrote on social media.

Pritish Nandy was a towering figure in Indian media, literature, and culture. A celebrated poet, he published numerous acclaimed collections. As a journalist, he held prominent roles, including as editor of The Illustrated Weekly of India and publishing director at The Times of India.

Nandy’s contributions to cinema were equally significant. Through his production house, Pritish Nandy Communications, he brought audiences popular films like Pyaar Ke Side Effects, Jhankaar Beats, and Shaadi Ke Side Effects.

In addition to his literary and cinematic achievements, Nandy was a former Rajya Sabha member and a passionate advocate for animal welfare. He co-founded People for Animals, an organization dedicated to protecting animal rights.

Nandy’s passing marks the loss of a multifaceted talent who made a lasting impact on India’s cultural and social landscape.
