Bollywood actor Salman Khan has once again become the target of a death threat, allegedly issued by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. A WhatsApp message was sent to Mumbai Traffic Police, demanding ₹5 crore from the actor to "end the enmity." The threat warned that if the money wasn't paid, Salman Khan's fate would be worse than that of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, who was recently murdered, allegedly by the same gang. The message urged authorities not to take the threat lightly, underscoring the serious danger to the actor's life.
Following this development, the Mumbai Police have intensified security measures around Khan's Bandra residence. This is not the first time the actor has been targeted, and previous threats have already placed him on high alert.
In a parallel development, the Navi Mumbai Police recently arrested a key member of the Bishnoi gang, Sukhbir Balbir Singh, also known as Sukha, in Panipat, Haryana. Singh is believed to have been involved in planning an assassination attempt on Salman Khan, reportedly giving a contract to other gang members to carry out the attack. According to police sources, Singh had direct communication with a Pakistani-based handler named Dogar, coordinating plans to use high-powered firearms such as AK-47s and M16s, smuggled from Pakistan, to execute the plot.
Singh’s arrest marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the Bishnoi gang’s conspiracy against Salman Khan. Earlier this year, the Navi Mumbai Police registered an FIR against 18 gang members for plotting to kill the actor, after a previous incident in which shots were fired outside Khan’s residence in Bandra. Notable figures linked to the case include Lawrence Bishnoi, his brother Anmol, Sampat Nehra, Goldie Brar, and Rohit Godhara, all of whom have been associated with organized crime across North India.
The police investigation has uncovered alarming details, revealing that the Bishnoi gang had deployed between 60 and 70 operatives to monitor Khan's movements. These individuals conducted surveillance at various locations, including the actor’s Bandra home, his Panvel farmhouse, and film shooting sites. The gang even attempted to recruit minors as sharpshooters to carry out the assassination.
The feud between Salman Khan and Lawrence Bishnoi dates back several years, largely due to the actor’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The Bishnoi community holds the blackbuck in high reverence, and the incident has fueled a long-standing vendetta against Khan.
This recent threat follows a series of previous incidents, including a threatening letter found near Khan’s residence in 2022 and an email warning sent in March 2023. In January 2024, two individuals attempted to trespass into the actor's Panvel farmhouse using fake identities, prompting Salman Khan to increase his security measures even further. The actor’s safety remains a significant concern as investigations continue into this latest threat from the Bishnoi gang.
