Seven people, including five women and two men, have died and nine others have been injured in a stampede at Baba Siddhanth Temple in Jehanabad district, Bihar, on Monday morning. The incident occurred as pilgrims gathered at the temple.

District Magistrate Alankrita Pandey reported that the situation is under control. "We have confirmed seven deaths and nine injuries from the stampede at Baba Siddhnath Temple in Makhdumpur. We are monitoring the situation closely," she told ANI.

Following the incident, both the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police visited the site to assess the situation. "We are currently identifying the victims and arranging for post-mortem examinations," said Divakar Kumar Vishwakarma, Jehanabad's Station House Officer.

Jehanabad's Sub-Divisional Officer Vikas Kumar described the event as "sad" and assured that all necessary arrangements were being made to address the situation.

This tragedy follows a similar incident on July 2 in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, where a stampede at a religious event led by Baba Narayan Hari resulted in over 120 fatalities.
