Shakira India Tour Delayed Amid Global Tensions, Fans Left Disappointed
Shakira’s scheduled India concerts have been pushed back due to geopolitical concerns, with organisers assuring full refunds and new dates soon
21-03-2026Fans eagerly waiting to see Shakira perform in India will have to wait longer, as her upcoming concerts in the country have been postponed. The organisers announced that the decision was influenced by the current geopolitical climate and rising tensions in the region.
The update was shared by Zomato’s events platform, which stated that safety remains the top priority for attendees, performers, and crew members.
Concertgoers who had already booked tickets will receive complete refunds, which will be credited back to their original payment method within a few working days. Organisers also mentioned that discussions are underway with the singer’s team to finalise revised dates.
The shows were originally planned for April, with performances lined up in Mumbai and Delhi as part of a special initiative linked to a social cause. The concerts were particularly significant as they would have marked Shakira’s return to India after nearly 20 years, her last major performance in the country taking place in 2007.
The announcement has sparked disappointment among fans online, many of whom had made travel and accommodation arrangements. Some have also raised concerns about whether those additional expenses will be covered.
This is not an isolated case, as other international events, including a planned show by Kanye West in New Delhi, have also been rescheduled in light of the same global uncertainties.
Despite the setback, organisers have assured fans that efforts are being made to bring the concerts back soon once conditions stabilise.
