Actor and entrepreneur Shilpa Shetty has announced that her popular Bandra restaurant and lounge, Bastian Bandra, will close its doors this Thursday, bringing an end to what many consider one of Mumbai’s most glamorous dining and nightlife landmarks.
In an Instagram post, Shetty called it “the end of an era,” while assuring patrons that Bastian at the Top in Worli will continue to operate and offer “exciting new experiences.” She also confirmed that the well-known Thursday event, Arcane Affair, would now shift to the Worli property.
“To give this iconic space the farewell it deserves, we are putting together a very special evening for our closest patrons — a night of memories, energy, and magic celebrating everything that Bastian has represented,” Shetty shared.
The announcement coincides with ongoing legal troubles for Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra, who have been accused in a ₹60 crore fraud case filed by businessman Deepak Kothari. He alleges that funds earmarked for business expansion nearly a decade ago were misused.
Their lawyer, Prashant Patil, has rejected the accusations, saying, “These are baseless claims. We have not received a copy of the FIR yet. Once we do, we will take appropriate legal steps. But it is unusual for someone to raise such allegations 8–10 years later. We have documentary evidence for all transactions.”
For Mumbaikars, the closure of Bastian Bandra marks the curtain call for a venue that shaped the city’s fine-dining and party culture. The legacy now shifts to the Worli outlet, even as the couple battles legal scrutiny over the fraud allegations.
