06-03-2025In an unexpected turn of events, former Indian cricket captain Sourav Ganguly has made his acting debut in a promotional advertisement for the upcoming Netflix web series Khakee 2. The advertisement showcases Ganguly donning a police uniform, fueling speculation that he may portray a law enforcement officer in the series.
Ganguly's involvement in the project has generated immense buzz, especially among his devoted fans. The web series, featuring prominent actors Jeet and Prosenjit Chatterjee, was already highly anticipated, but Ganguly’s participation has further heightened excitement surrounding its release.
Sources indicate that the advertisement was filmed at Binodini Studio in Baruipur. Leaked images of Ganguly in a khaki uniform have gone viral on social media, sparking curiosity about his role in Khakee 2.
While specific details about Ganguly’s part remain under wraps, this marks a fresh and intriguing chapter in his post-cricket career. Having transitioned from the cricket field to administrative roles and television hosting, Ganguly is now exploring the world of acting, at least for the promotional campaign of the series.
Interestingly, a biopic on Ganguly’s life is also in the works, with actor Rajkummar Rao set to play the lead role. However, Ganguly himself will not be acting in the film.
The advertisement for Khakee 2 has been produced by Sri Venkatesh Films. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the web series’ release, as well as Ganguly’s appearance in its promotional campaign.
