Actor Trisha Krishnan was among the guests at the Independence Day celebrations held at Fort St George in Chennai on Friday. She occupied a front-row seat before Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay arrived for the flag-hoisting ceremony, with videos from the event subsequently circulating on social media.

Dressed in a yellow saree and wearing a traditional gajra, Trisha was seen waiting for the Chief Minister’s arrival. She attended the ceremony alongside her mother, Uma Krishnan.

In another video, Trisha was seated beside Vijay’s parents, SA Chandrasekhar and Shoba Chandrasekar. She was also seen saluting Vijay during the ceremonial parade.

Trisha had attended Vijay’s swearing-in ceremony too

This was not the first time Trisha had occupied a prominent seat at an important event involving Vijay. At his swearing-in ceremony in Chennai in May, she was also seated in the front row at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

At that event, Trisha was seen sharing a warm moment with Vijay’s mother, Shoba Chandrasekhar, before taking her seat.

Trisha and Vijay’s friendship remains a talking point

Trisha and Vijay have continued to attract considerable attention from fans because of their long-standing association. Social media speculation about their personal equation has resurfaced several times in recent months.

Neither actor has publicly addressed the speculation surrounding their relationship. Interest around the two has also intensified following developments concerning Vijay’s separation and divorce proceedings involving his estranged wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam.

For now, however, Trisha’s appearance at the Independence Day ceremony was notable for her prominent front-row presence alongside members of Vijay’s family.
