Following President Joe Biden's announcement to end his campaign and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee, Donald Trump reacted by stating that Harris would be easier to defeat than Biden, according to CNN.

Shortly after Biden's decision, Trump told CNN, "He [Biden] is the worst president in the history of our country. He goes down as the single worst president by far in the history of our country."

Trump continued his criticism on his Truth Social platform, asserting that Biden "was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve."

“Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve - And never was! He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement.

"All those around him, including his Doctor and the Media, knew that he wasn’t capable of being President, and he wasn’t,” Trump posted on Truth Social.

The former President, aged 78, added, “We will suffer greatly because of his presidency, but we will remedy the damage he has done very quickly. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Biden, 81, concluded his bid for re-election on Sunday amidst calls for his exit following a poor debate performance against Trump that cast doubts on his readiness for office, just four months before the election. Biden plans to serve out the rest of his term, ending on January 20, 2025.

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to serve as your President. And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term," Biden stated.

Following his announcement, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris to challenge Trump as the Democratic candidate in the November election, urging his party to unite behind her.

“Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year," he said in another post on X. “Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump," he wrote.

The call for Biden's withdrawal grew louder after his lackluster debate performance against Trump on June 27. Prominent Democratic figures, including former President Barack Obama and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, expressed concerns over Biden's chances of securing a victory.
