Former U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he will not pursue a fourth consecutive run for the presidency if he is unsuccessful in the upcoming November 5 election. In an interview aired on Sunday on Sharyl Attkisson's "Full Measure" program, the 78-year-old Republican said, "No, I don’t. I think that will be it. I don’t see that at all. Hopefully, we will be successful."

This marks Trump's third consecutive campaign for the White House. He faces a tight race against Democratic U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, with polls showing both candidates running neck-and-neck in key battleground states. National polls have begun to show Harris gaining a slight lead.

Trump, who launched his re-election bid for the 2020 election on the day of his 2017 inauguration, announced his latest run in November 2022. Despite his loss to Democratic President Joe Biden in 2020, which Trump continues to falsely attribute to widespread voter fraud, he remains a key figure in the Republican party. He is currently facing multiple federal and state charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. Trump denies all accusations and claims the legal challenges are politically motivated.

In addition to his political endeavors, Trump has ventured into various business initiatives, including Trump Media, NFTs, and Trump-branded products like sneakers, coins, and cryptocurrency.

Vice President Kamala Harris, 59, has framed the 2024 race as a pivotal moment for American democracy, focusing her campaign on everyday concerns such as family costs and housing.

When asked if the four-year gap since leaving office helped him reflect on who his true allies are, Trump responded, "It would have been easier if I did it contiguous... But the benefit is more than anything else, it shows how bad they were."

Trump, speaking from his Florida resort, also said it was "too early" to discuss potential candidates for his cabinet, should he secure a victory in November.
