Actor Vijay Deverakonda delivered an affectionate speech for his wife Rashmika Mandanna at their reception held in Kodagu (Coorg) on April 6, marking the couple’s first trip to her hometown since their wedding in Udaipur on February 26.

Addressing family and friends gathered for the celebration, Vijay reflected on his connection with the region and revealed that this was his third time visiting Kodagu. He shared that his first trip to Coorg was with school friends, long before he knew Rashmika. Interestingly, he later discovered that during one of his earlier visits, he had stayed at the home of one of her friends — a coincidence he recalled fondly during the event.

Expressing his admiration for the hill district, Vijay described Kodagu as a place he has grown deeply attached to over time. He added that even before meeting Rashmika, he had always admired the beauty of women from the region. With a smile, he said he feels fortunate to have married a Kodava woman and was delighted to celebrate the occasion surrounded by her community.

The reception brought together close relatives and friends in a traditional setting. Rashmika embraced her roots by wearing a silk saree draped in Kodava style, while Vijay chose a classic black blazer paired with a white shirt and trousers. During their visit, the couple also offered prayers at the revered Igguthappa Temple in Karnataka.

Professionally, the duo has already returned to work and are currently filming their third movie together, Ranabaali, directed by Rahul Sankrityan. The film is slated for a theatrical release on September 11.
