Actor Vikrant Massey announced on December 1 that he is taking a break from acting, expressing his intention to step away from films for an undetermined period. The news has surprised both the film industry and his fans. In an emotional Instagram post, he shared that while the past few years had been extraordinary, it was time for him to focus on his personal life and recalibrate as a husband, father, and son. He added that his last two films and the memories he created would stay with him.

His Instagram post read, “The last few years and beyond have been phenomenal. I thank each and every one of you for your indelible support. But as I move forward, I realise it’s time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor. So, coming 2025, we would meet each other for one last time. Until time deems right. Last 2 movies and many a years of memories. Thank you again. For everything and everything in between. Forever indebted.”

The actor’s decision comes after the release of The Sabarmati Report and follows a notable recognition at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, where he was honored with the Indian Film Personality of the Year award. Vikrant’s recent projects, including 12th Fail (2023), where he portrayed IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, and Phir Aayi Hasseen Dillruba, were well received.

The Sabarmati Report, based on the 2002 Godhra train incident, earned praise from key political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, and was declared tax-free in several states.

While Vikrant has projects like Yaar Jigri and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyaan upcoming, it remains unclear when he will return to the screen. Fans and industry peers, including actress Esha Gupta, have expressed support for his decision during this time of personal recalibration.
