Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat may have narrowly missed out on a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, but her stock has risen significantly. Disqualified from the women’s 50kg freestyle final due to a weigh-in issue, Vinesh's Olympic journey ended in heartbreak. Despite challenging the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), she did not secure a medal. However, Vinesh remains a celebrated figure in India, with her market demand as a brand ambassador skyrocketing post-Olympics.
According to a report by the Economic Times, Vinesh’s endorsement fees have surged. Previously charging around INR 25 lakh per deal, she now commands between INR 75 lakh and INR 1 crore per brand.
Olympic athletes like Neeraj Chopra and Manu Bhaker have also seen their brand values increase following their performances in Paris. Chopra, who won a silver medal, has seen his brand worth rise by 30-40%, while shooter Manu Bhaker, who earned two bronze medals, secured a significant INR 1.5 crore deal with ThumbsUp. Bhaker's endorsement fees have also multiplied sixfold.
