15 Dead, Several Injured in Bus-Mini Truck Collision on UP's Hathras

06-09-2024At least 15 people were killed and several others injured after a roadways bus collided with a mini-truck on National Highway 93 in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras district on Friday. The tragic accident occurred as the bus, en route to Agra from Hathras, attempted to overtake the mini-truck, which was carrying passengers returning to Sewala village after lunch.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath expressed his condolences and directed officials to expedite relief efforts. District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police Nipun Agarwal immediately visited the district hospital to assess the situation.
"The accident happened when the bus tried to overtake the van on the Agra-Aligarh National Highway," said SP Agarwal. Four of the injured passengers are reported to be in critical condition, according to a report by PTI.
