20-06-2024A 24-year-old man, attempting to disguise himself as a senior citizen, was apprehended at Delhi airport while trying to board a flight to Canada.
Identified as Guru Sewak Singh, he was intercepted by CISF officials on Tuesday at Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Singh has since been turned over to Delhi Police.
During the security check, Singh presented a passport under the name Rashvindar Singh Sahota, age 67, as he prepared to board an Air Canada flight from Delhi. However, CISF officials became suspicious due to discrepancies between his appearance and the age listed on the passport.
"The man's appearance, voice, and skin texture appeared significantly younger than the passport details suggested. Further inspection revealed that he had dyed his hair and beard white and was wearing glasses to look older," according to a CISF statement.
Upon intense questioning, Singh admitted his true identity. Officials also discovered a photo of his real passport on his phone, confirming he was 24 years old. He was subsequently handed over to Delhi Police along with his belongings for further legal action.
