Alka Yagnik, a celebrated playback singer, recently revealed her diagnosis of a rare sensorineural hearing loss. The announcement was made through her Instagram post, explaining her recent absence from the public eye.

On June 17, Alka shared a heartfelt message and a photo, seeking support and understanding from her fans and well-wishers. She described the sudden onset of her condition, which began after a flight when she noticed a significant hearing loss.

In her post, Alka wrote, "To all my fans, friends, followers, and well-wishers. A few weeks ago, after disembarking from a flight, I suddenly found myself unable to hear. Summoning the courage over the past weeks, I now wish to break my silence for those who have been concerned about my absence."

Her doctors diagnosed the issue as a rare sensorineural hearing loss caused by a viral attack, an unexpected and significant setback for the singer. Alka asked for prayers as she navigates this challenging time.

She also took the opportunity to caution her fans and young colleagues about the dangers of exposure to loud music and headphones. "For my fans and young colleagues, I urge caution regarding loud music and headphones. Someday, I hope to share the health challenges I have faced in my professional life. With your love and support, I hope to recalibrate my life and return soon. Your support and understanding mean the world to me in this critical hour."

At 58, Alka Yagnik remains a prominent figure in Bollywood music, having contributed to recent projects like 'Crew' and 'Amar Singh Chamkila.'
