Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday delivered a stern message following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, declaring that India, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, would respond to terrorism with precision and resolve.

Breaking his silence for the first time since the deadly assault, Shah issued a warning to those behind the violence. “Anyone who believes a cowardly act is a triumph must remember — this is Modi’s India. Each act will be avenged, one by one,” he asserted.

He reaffirmed the government’s unwavering mission to eliminate terrorism from all parts of the country. “Our commitment is clear — we will wipe out terrorism from every inch of this land, and we will achieve this goal,” he said.

The Home Minister also highlighted the international community’s growing support for India’s anti-terrorism stance. “Not just the 140 crore citizens of India, but nations across the globe are united in our fight. The world stands with us,” he noted.

Vowing justice, Shah added, “Our campaign will continue until terror is eradicated. Those responsible for such attacks will undoubtedly face the consequences.”

The terror attack in Pahalgam's Baisaran valley left 25 tourists and one local resident dead, marking one of the most tragic assaults on civilians in recent memory. The attackers struck in a remote meadow area accessible only via a trek or pony ride.

Amit Shah had flown to Srinagar the day after the incident, where he met the bereaved families, offered condolences, and paid tribute to the victims. During his visit, he promised that the perpetrators would not escape justice.

In the aftermath, India’s diplomatic relations with Pakistan sharply deteriorated. The government suspended the Indus Waters Treaty and revoked visas issued to Pakistani nationals as part of a broader retaliatory stance.
