Anant Ambani and the Reliance Foundation have generously donated a 20kg gold crown valued at ₹15 crore to Lalbaugcha Raja, Mumbai’s famed Ganesh idol. The lavish gift was unveiled during the ceremony on Thursday evening, marking the first look of Lalbaugcha Raja for this year’s Ganesh Chaturthi.

The gold crown, which weighs an impressive 20kg, was ceremoniously presented and placed on the idol of Lalbaugcha Raja. This iconic Ganesh idol, a centerpiece of the city’s Ganesh festival, draws thousands of devotees each year. The festival, which begins on September 7, involves elaborate consecration of Ganesh idols in both homes and public spaces across Maharashtra.

The Ambani family has long been associated with the Lalbaugcha Raja mandal, contributing to its celebrations and participating in the immersion procession. Balasaheb Kamble, President of the Lalbaugcha Raja mandal, expressed pride in the enduring relationship with the Ambani family, highlighting their dedication to the festival.

The Lalbaugcha Raja, managed by the Lalbaugcha Raja Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav Mandal since its establishment in 1934, is renowned for its grandeur and the devotion it inspires. The Kambli family has overseen the care of the Ganesh idol for over 80 years.
