Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricket great Sachin Tendulkar, has become engaged to Saaniya Chandok. The development quickly set social media abuzz, with fans sharing congratulatory posts. So far, neither family has issued an official statement.
A report by India Today stated that Saaniya is the granddaughter of well-known Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai, whose family is prominent in the hospitality and food sectors. They own the InterContinental Hotel as well as Brooklyn Creamery. The engagement was reportedly held in private, attended only by close relatives and friends from both sides.
Arjun, a left-arm pace bowler who can contribute with the bat, currently represents Goa in domestic cricket. In 17 First-Class matches, he has taken 37 wickets and scored 532 runs. His T20 record includes 24 matches with 27 wickets and 119 runs, while in 18 List A games, he has picked up 25 wickets and made 102 runs.
He has also featured for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, making his debut in 2023. That season, he played four matches and claimed three wickets, including the prized scalp of Bhuvneshwar Kumar against SunRisers Hyderabad. In the 2024 season, he appeared in just one game and went wicketless. MI retained him for that year, and in the subsequent mega auction, he was signed again by the franchise for ₹30 lakh.
