Bollywood actor Sonu Sood faces legal trouble as a Ludhiana court issued an arrest warrant against him on Thursday for failing to appear in a fraud case.

The case stems from a complaint filed by Ludhiana-based lawyer Rajesh Khanna, who accused a man named Mohit Shukla of defrauding him of ₹10 lakh. Khanna alleged that he was persuaded to invest in a fraudulent Rijika coin scheme and that Sood was required to testify in the matter.

Despite multiple summonses, the actor reportedly failed to appear before the court, prompting Judicial Magistrate Ramanpreet Kaur to issue the warrant. The order has been sent to Mumbai’s Oshiwara Police Station, instructing officials to arrest Sood and present him before the court.

The court order states: “Sonu Sood has been duly served with summons or warrants but has failed to attend, absconding or staying out of the way to avoid service. You are hereby ordered to arrest and bring the said Sonu Sood before the Court.”

Authorities have been directed to execute the warrant and submit a report by February 10, when the next hearing is scheduled.

Sonu Sood’s Work Front

On the professional front, Sonu Sood recently directed the action thriller Fateh, which was released on January 10. The film is based on real-life cybercrime incidents that took place during the COVID-19 pandemic.
