Bibhav Kumar, an aide and former personal secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, was detained by Delhi Police on Saturday in connection with the alleged assault of AAP MP Swati Maliwal. Kumar was taken out through the back gate of the Chief Minister's residence.

This incident follows the Delhi Police registering a case against Kumar two days earlier based on a complaint from Maliwal. In her complaint, Maliwal accused Kumar of slapping her 7–8 times and repeatedly kicking her in the chest and stomach during her visit to the Chief Minister's residence on May 13.

On Friday, the police took Maliwal to Kejriwal's residence to recreate the crime scene, and her statement was recorded before a magistrate at the Tis Hazari court.

In response, Kumar has filed a counter-complaint at the Civil Lines police station, alleging that Maliwal had entered the Chief Minister's residence "forcefully and unauthorisedly."
