Entrepreneur Ashneer Grover’s decision to keep his DLF Camellias apartment off-camera has prompted a playful job offer from a Gurugram property dealer, who joked that the former BharatPe co-founder had already demonstrated the skills needed for a real estate field associate.
Abhishek Bharadwaj, a realtor who says he has closed more than 200 property deals in Gurugram, took to X to poke fun at Grover’s recent video tour of the luxury residential complex. He suggested that the entrepreneur’s focus on the clubhouse, landscaped surroundings and other amenities resembled a familiar situation for brokers who cannot arrange access to a flat during a site visit.
The video, titled Home Beyond the Price Tag, was shared on Grover’s wife’s YouTube channel and offered viewers a glimpse of the high-end development without revealing the interiors of the entrepreneur’s home.
Why Grover skipped the apartment tour
In the video, Grover explained that he currently lives in Delhi and has rented out his apartment at DLF Camellias. Since tenants are living in the property, he said he did not want to intrude on their privacy by filming inside.
He indicated that viewers could expect a proper look at the apartment after the tenants leave and he returns to live there. In the meantime, his visits to the Gurugram property are largely centred on using the complex’s clubhouse and facilities when work brings him to the city.
DLF Camellias is among Gurugram’s premium residential developments, known for its luxury homes and extensive amenities. Grover’s video highlighted the lifestyle associated with the project rather than the layout or interiors of his own apartment.
Realtor explains the art of an incomplete site visit
Bharadwaj used the situation to describe how some property brokers handle visits when they cannot get prospective buyers inside a home. In his account, the tour can shift towards the housing society’s shared facilities, landscaped areas and other selling points, keeping the prospective buyer engaged while access to the apartment remains unavailable.
He said buyers interested in premium properties can sometimes be drawn in by the location, exclusivity and amenities before they have even viewed the actual unit. Details such as the floor plan, apartment orientation and views may become part of the pitch even when an in-person inspection has not taken place.
Bharadwaj added that he would take a different approach with his own clients, saying he would try to persuade the tenant to allow a viewing rather than rely solely on the surrounding facilities to complete the visit.
‘Club dikha diya, greenery dikha di’
Taking the joke a step further, Bharadwaj offered Grover a position as a field associate, suggesting that the entrepreneur had already completed a typical broker-style visit.
He quipped that Grover had shown the clubhouse and greenery without discussing the flat itself, presenting the video as an informal demonstration of the job. The remark was a tongue-in-cheek response to the tour, rather than an indication of an actual recruitment process.
The post attracted attention on X, where users joined in with jokes about Grover’s potential career switch. Others used the discussion to comment on the cost of luxury housing and the appeal of premium residential projects in Gurugram.
The exchange has turned what Grover described as a privacy-conscious decision into a social media talking point, with the realtor using the episode to highlight the difference between showcasing a luxury development and giving a buyer access to the home itself.
