Bajaj Auto has announced a major refresh of its electric scooter portfolio, introducing a new “C Series” naming format along with upgrades in performance, charging and digital features across variants.

Under the revised structure, the Chetak range will now be organised into three distinct lines — C 35, C 30 and C 25 — creating a clearer hierarchy within the brand’s electric offerings. The company says the restructuring is aimed at enhancing daily practicality while bundling in features that earlier required additional payment.

At the premium end, the C 35 01 variant now integrates Google Maps navigation through the Chetak App, offering riders built-in route guidance via a familiar interface. The scooter also receives a power boost, with motor output increased to 4.8kW from the earlier 4.5kW, and a revised top speed of 80 kmph.

Speed enhancements have been rolled out across the board. Both the C 35 01 and C 35 02 now reach 80 kmph, compared to the earlier 73 kmph limit. Meanwhile, the C 35 03 and C 30 01 variants now top out at 70 kmph instead of 63 kmph. The newly introduced C 25 01 offers a maximum speed of 60 kmph, improving on the previous 55 kmph benchmark.

Charging times have also been optimised. The C 30 01 can now replenish its battery from 0 to 80 percent in 2 hours and 55 minutes — a noticeable reduction from the earlier 3 hours and 50 minutes.

In a customer-friendly shift, ride modes such as Eco and Sport, along with hill-hold assist, are now included as standard equipment on the C 35 and C 30 models. Previously, these features were optional add-ons. The move simplifies variant selection and improves overall value.

Certain trims — including the C 35 01 and C 35 02 — will also support over-the-air (OTA) updates. This allows users to receive software enhancements, feature upgrades and system refinements remotely, without needing a dealership visit.

Eric Vas, President of Bajaj Auto’s Urbanite Business, said the updated C Series reflects the company’s effort to strengthen the Chetak brand with improved ride performance, smarter connectivity and practical enhancements.

With these changes, Bajaj Auto aims to reinforce the Chetak’s position in India’s rapidly expanding electric two-wheeler market by offering a more well-rounded and tech-forward product lineup.
