'Batenge Toh Katenge': Yogi Adityanath Urges National Unity
UP CM Yogi Adityanath emphasizes national unity, referencing Bangladesh's situation as a cautionary tale against divisive forces
26-08-2024Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, referencing the situation in neighboring Bangladesh, made a strong plea for national unity during a rally in Agra, emphasizing that "if we are divided, we will be destroyed." He stressed that the country can only be strengthened through unity, adding, "Nothing is above the nation, and it will only be empowered when we remain united."
Addressing a gathering after unveiling a statue in Agra, the Chief Minister said, "You can see what is happening in Bangladesh. We must not repeat those mistakes here. If we are divided, we will be in trouble; if we stay united, we will prosper."
Yogi Adityanath also accused the Opposition of engaging in divisive politics, prioritizing vote bank concerns over the well-being of Hindus in Bangladesh after Sheikh Hasina stepped down as Prime Minister. He criticized the Opposition for remaining silent on the persecution of Hindus and the destruction of temples in Bangladesh, despite being vocal about global issues like Palestine.
"They see Palestine but turn a blind eye to Bangladesh because they fear losing their vote bank," he remarked.
The Chief Minister also issued a cautionary note, calling on citizens to remain vigilant against forces that try to create division in society along lines of caste, region, language, or other differences. "We must unite to expose and counter those divisive forces that seek to fracture society for their petty interests. As citizens, it is our duty to work for unity," he concluded.
