Bengaluru Domestic Help Brutally Kills Pet Dog, Act Caught on CCTV
A domestic worker in Bengaluru’s Bagaluru has been booked for allegedly killing her employer’s pet dog, Goofy, in a shocking act of cruelty captured on camera
04-11-2025A shocking incident of animal cruelty has emerged from Bagaluru, Bengaluru, where a household worker allegedly killed a pet dog named Goofy in a brutal act caught on camera.
The disturbing event reportedly occurred on October 31 inside an apartment complex and was recorded on CCTV footage. The video shows the accused, identified as Pushpalatha, throwing the dog inside a lift and allegedly assaulting it violently.
Following the incident, Goofy’s owner, Rashi Poojari, lodged a police complaint, after which an FIR was registered at the Bagaluru Police Station.
According to officials, Pushpalatha, who had been employed by the family for nearly six weeks, has been on the run since the case was filed. Police have booked her under Section 325 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which makes intentional harm or killing of animals a punishable offence carrying up to five years in prison and a monetary fine. The section also allows for arrest without a warrant.
Authorities have launched a search operation to locate and apprehend the accused.
This case follows another shocking instance of animal cruelty reported in June, where a woman from Mahadevapura, Triparna Paik, allegedly killed her Labrador and hid its body in her flat for days, purportedly as part of an occult ritual. She was booked under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act and relevant sections of the BNS.
