Amid heightened tensions between Israel and Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released fresh videos on Monday to counter rumours circulating online about his death.

The clips show Netanyahu walking outdoors and addressing the situation while reaffirming Israel’s determination during the ongoing conflict. The videos surfaced after speculation spread across social media platforms over the weekend following Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

Earlier appearance at cafe

A day earlier, Netanyahu had also appeared at the Sataf Cafe, where he was seen ordering coffee and joking about the claims regarding his death. Images from the visit were later shared publicly by the cafe, confirming the prime minister’s presence there.

Deepfake claims circulate online

Despite the public appearances, some critics online alleged that the videos could be manipulated or generated using deepfake technology. Social media users pointed to supposed visual inconsistencies, including brief glitches in hand movements and jewellery appearing to disappear in certain frames.

However, officials from the prime minister’s office dismissed the speculation as misinformation. Independent fact-checkers also reviewed the footage and concluded that the videos were authentic.

Rumours spread during escalating conflict

The rumours surfaced at a time when tensions between Israel and Iran have intensified, with both sides exchanging accusations and military actions.

Netanyahu’s public appearances and statements appear aimed at countering the viral claims and demonstrating that he remains actively leading the government amid the unfolding crisis.
