President Joe Biden admits to a debate mistake, addressing age-related concerns in a candid interview following his recent presidential debate with Donald Trump
04-07-2024President Joe Biden has openly acknowledged a lapse during his recent presidential debate against Donald Trump, admitting to making a mistake in an upcoming interview with The Earl Ingram Show. The 81-year-old addressed concerns over his performance on June 27, where observers noted moments of disorientation and a muffled voice, reigniting discussions about his age and fitness for the 2024 election.
In his conversation with Ingram, Biden candidly stated, “I had a bad night. And the fact of the matter is, that, you know, I screwed up. I made a mistake.” He defended himself by pointing to his accomplishments over his tenure, saying, “That’s 90 minutes on stage. Look at what I’ve done in 3.5 years.”
Despite criticisms, radio host Ingram, who spoke with CNN’s Erica Hill, remarked that Biden didn’t show signs of readiness to give up. Meanwhile, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reassured the public that Biden had no intention of stepping down, emphasizing his determination to persevere through challenges.
Biden himself affirmed his commitment during a recent rally in Raleigh, N.C., admitting to physical and verbal challenges but asserting, “I’m the nominee of the Democratic Party. No one’s pushing me out. I’m not leaving. I’m in this race to the end and we’re going to win because when Democrats unite, we always win.”
