On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that Mohan Charan Majhi, a prominent BJP leader, will assume the role of Chief Minister of Odisha. The BJP-led government will also appoint Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida as Deputy Chief Ministers to assist Majhi.

Earlier in the day, the BJP held a legislature party meeting to finalize the selection of the new chief minister for Odisha. The meeting was attended by Rajnath Singh, along with his cabinet colleague Bhupender Yadav, signaling the party's commitment to a smooth transition of power in the state.
