Businessman Sunjay Kapur, known for his past marriage to actor Karisma Kapoor, died on June 13 after suffering a heart attack during a polo match. He was 53. His last rites are scheduled to take place at 5 PM on Thursday at the Lodhi Road Cremation Ground in New Delhi, as reported by NDTV.

A formal note regarding a prayer meeting has been shared on social media. The gathering will be held on June 22 at the Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi from 4 to 5 PM. Family members and close acquaintances are expected to attend the memorial to pay their respects.

The message was signed by his mother Rani Surinder Kapur, his wife Priya Sachdev Kapur, and their children Safira and Azarias. His children from his second marriage with Karisma Kapoor — Samaira and Kiaan — also signed the note.

According to reports, there was a delay in Sunjay Kapur’s funeral due to legal procedures in the UK.

Kapur had been married three times. His first marriage was to fashion designer Nandita Mahtani in 1996, which lasted for four years. He later married Bollywood actor Karisma Kapoor in 2003, with whom he had two children — Samaira and Kiaan. The couple separated in 2014 and finalized their divorce in 2016. In 2017, he married Priya Sachdev, and the couple has a son, Azarias.

Following the news of his sudden demise, several members of Karisma Kapoor’s close circle, including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Amrita Arora, and Malaika Arora, were seen arriving at her residence to offer support.
