The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, along with Abhijit Mandal, the Station House Officer (SHO) of Tala Police Station, in connection with the Kolkata rape and murder case.

The arrests were made following allegations of their involvement in delaying the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) and tampering with crucial evidence related to the case. Sources reveal that both individuals are accused of obstructing the investigation by destroying evidence and providing misleading information, which hindered the probe.

This development marks a significant step in the ongoing investigation into the gruesome incident that has sparked widespread protests and demands for justice.
