Coldplay Issued Notice Over Child Safety Ahead of Ahmedabad Concert
Gujarat authorities have issued guidelines to Coldplay, prohibiting children on stage and mandating earplugs for young attendees at their Ahmedabad concerts
05-01-2025The District Child Protection Unit in Gujarat has issued a formal notice to the British rock band Coldplay ahead of their scheduled concerts at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on January 25 and 26, 2025. The notice prohibits the involvement of children on stage during the performances and outlines safety measures for young attendees.
Organisers have been instructed to ensure that no child enters the venue without earplugs, citing concerns about sound levels exceeding 120 decibels, which could pose significant health risks to children. Authorities have warned that failure to comply with these guidelines could result in strict action. The notice follows a complaint filed by a Chandigarh resident.
Coldplay, led by frontman Chris Martin alongside guitarist Jonny Buckland, bassist Guy Berryman, and drummer Will Champion, is also set to perform in Mumbai on January 18, 19, and 21, 2025. These concerts will mark the band's return to India after a nine-year hiatus, with their last performance taking place in 2016 at the Global Citizen Festival in Mumbai.
Fans across India are eagerly anticipating the shows, but the organisers are now under pressure to ensure compliance with safety guidelines while delivering a memorable experience for concertgoers.
