In her first press conference as Delhi Chief Minister, Atishi announced new minimum wage rates for workers in the unorganised sector: Rs 18,066 per month for unskilled workers, Rs 19,929 for semi-skilled, and Rs 21,917 for skilled workers. She highlighted that these are the highest minimum wages in the country, implemented by the AAP government under Arvind Kejriwal's leadership.

Atishi, who took office as Delhi's eighth chief minister on Saturday, criticized the BJP for offering lower wages in states it governs, claiming their minimum wages are nearly half of what is paid in Delhi. She also emphasized that despite BJP opposition, the Kejriwal government not only implemented the wages through court rulings but has consistently revised them twice a year.

Atishi retained her 13 portfolios from the previous government, which include education, revenue, finance, power, and PWD. Other key figures in the new Cabinet include Saurabh Bharadwaj, overseeing health and tourism, and Mukesh Ahlawat, who handles labour and SC/ST welfare.
