The Delhi government has granted a licence to the Delhi Consumer's Cooperative Wholesale Store Limited (DCCWS) to establish a retail liquor store in the arrival area of Terminal-3 at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport.

This marks the first L-10 category liquor store operated by a Delhi government agency under the current excise regulations. The store, spanning approximately 750 square feet, offers a self-service format allowing customers to select their preferred liquor brands directly.

Previously, only duty-free liquor outlets catered to international travellers at Terminal-3, prompting this move to serve domestic passengers and airport staff more effectively.

The facility includes LED screens displaying comparative pricing and accepts various payment methods including UPI, credit cards, and debit cards.

The initiative aims to meet local demand and deter illicit liquor trade across the Haryana-Delhi border.
