Delhi Government to Regulate Coaching Centres After Tragic Drownings

Following the drowning deaths of three civil service aspirants in a coaching centre basement, Delhi officials announce plans to introduce a new regulation law for coaching institutes

Delhi Minister Atishi announced that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government plans to introduce legislation to regulate coaching centres in response to a tragic incident where three civil service aspirants drowned in the basement of a coaching centre in Old Rajinder Nagar.

At a press conference with Delhi Mayor Shelly Oberoi, Atishi revealed that following the incident at Rau's IAS Study Circle, authorities have sealed the basements of 30 coaching centres and issued notices to 200 institutes.

Shelly Oberoi emphasized the government's commitment to addressing student concerns and announced plans to consult with students before drafting the Coaching Institute Regulation Act.
