A Delta Air Lines aircraft flipped over during its landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday, leaving 18 of the 80 passengers on board injured, authorities reported. The incident occurred amid powerful winds following a snowstorm.

Among the injured, three individuals suffered severe injuries, including a child. Emergency responders airlifted two people to specialized trauma facilities, while the child was transported to a pediatric hospital. The other 12 passengers sustained less serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Toronto Pearson Airport confirmed the accident, indicating that it involved a Delta flight arriving from Minneapolis. In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), the airport noted that emergency teams were actively addressing the situation. The statement assured that all individuals on board, including the crew, had been accounted for.

Constable Sarah Patten from Peel Regional Police provided additional information, confirming that a plane accident had taken place. However, she stated that the specific details surrounding the crash were not yet clear. She added that while most passengers appeared to be unharmed, officers remained at the scene to ensure everyone's safety.

Footage from the crash site surfaced on social media, showing emergency personnel working around the overturned aircraft. Some videos captured the plane resting upside down, while evacuated passengers filmed the aftermath.

One passenger, recording a video shared on X, described the situation, saying, “We just landed in Toronto. Our plane flipped over. Fire crews are here. Most passengers seem okay. We are being evacuated now.”

The disruption led to more than forty flight delays, affecting both arrivals and departures at Toronto Pearson Airport. Additionally, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration confirmed that a ground stop had been enforced at the airport following the crash.
