Dense winter fog triggered two separate highway accidents in north India over the weekend, leaving several passengers injured and causing traffic disruption, though no deaths were reported.

In Haryana’s Rewari district, a serious crash occurred early Saturday on National Highway 352D when visibility dropped sharply due to thick fog. At least three buses, and possibly a fourth, rammed into one another while travelling from Rewari towards Jhajjar. Emergency services rushed to the scene and shifted injured passengers to nearby medical facilities. Officials said the exact number of injured is still being verified. Police have launched an inquiry, with preliminary findings pointing to poor visibility as the main factor behind the collision.

A similar incident was reported in Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida on Sunday morning. Around six vehicles were involved in a pile-up on National Highway 91 after drivers struggled to see through dense fog. Several vehicles were damaged and a few people suffered minor injuries, but authorities confirmed there were no fatalities. The accident briefly disrupted traffic movement, which was later restored after police used cranes to clear the wreckage.

In both cases, law enforcement officials have urged motorists to exercise extreme caution while driving in foggy conditions, especially during early morning hours when visibility is at its lowest.
