Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde responded to the tragic hit-and-run incident in Worli on Sunday, emphasizing that the case would be handled impartially and that justice would be served. "I have spoken to the police. Whoever it is, it will be looked into with an equal eye. No one will be spared. Strict legal action will be taken. Everyone is equal before the law," said Shinde.

The incident, which occurred early Sunday, involved a BMW colliding with a scooter, resulting in the death of a woman and injuries to her husband. The BMW was reportedly driven by Mihir Shah, the son of Rajesh Shah, a leader in the Shiv Sena faction led by Eknath Shinde. Mihir Shah, 24, has been missing since the accident.

Rajesh Shah, the deputy leader of the Shinde Sena in Palghar district, has been detained by the authorities. The vehicle was registered in his name. The police have also detained Rajrishi Bidawat, Rajesh Shah's driver, who was allegedly present in the car at the time of the incident.

Police are investigating the details of the incident, including who was driving the vehicle and whether alcohol was involved. "Whether it is a case of drunk driving or not, we are probing that angle too. We got the information that the car was abandoned in Kala Nagar area. We have filed a case under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Motor Vehicles Act," stated DCP Zone 3, Krishnakant Upadhyay.

The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to apprehend Mihir Shah and gather more details about the circumstances leading to the accident.
