Billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday for his victory in the recent Lok Sabha elections. Musk expressed his enthusiasm for potential projects in India, highlighting the exciting prospects for his companies.

"Congratulations Narendra Modi on your victory in the world’s largest democratic elections! Looking forward to my companies doing exciting work in India," Musk posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter.

Following his election victory, Modi was designated Prime Minister by President Draupadi Murmu and is scheduled to take the oath for his third consecutive term on Sunday. Under Modi's leadership, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 293 out of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha.

Musk had announced plans to visit India shortly before the elections, but the trip was postponed due to pressing obligations with Tesla. In June of the previous year, Musk met with Modi in the US, where he expressed his admiration for the Prime Minister and revealed Tesla's intentions to invest in India.

Musk emphasized Modi's commitment to fostering significant investments in India, suggesting that an official announcement from Tesla could be forthcoming. "He [Modi] really cares about India because he's pushing us to make significant investments in India, which is something we intend to do ... I am confident that Tesla will be in India and will do so as soon as humanly possible," Musk told reporters after their 2023 meeting.
