Vivian Jenna Wilson, the 20-year-old transgender daughter of Elon Musk, has publicly addressed her father's recent remarks, in which he claimed she was "killed by the woke mind virus." Musk made these comments during a discussion with psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson, streamed on his platform X (formerly Twitter) on July 22.

Musk, 53, alleged that he was "tricked" into allowing Wilson to undergo transgender-related medical treatment at the age of 16. He expressed regret over losing his "son," referring to the concept of "deadnaming" to emphasize his feelings of loss.

Wilson, who legally changed her name and gender in 2022, has rejected Musk's claims, calling them a "lie" in an interview with NBC News on July 25. "I think he assumed I wouldn’t respond and would let his statements go unchallenged," Wilson said. "But if he's going to lie about me to millions of people, I won't let it slide."

She explained that Musk was aware of the medical treatments she received, which included puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy. Reflecting on her childhood, Wilson described Musk's presence as minimal, noting he was around only "maybe 10% of the time" despite having half custody.

Wilson is one of six children Musk shares with his ex-wife, Justine Wilson. He also has three children with singer Grimes and three more with Shivon Zilis.

On Threads, Wilson also responded to Musk's description of her as "gay and slightly autistic" and his claim that she used to pick out his clothes and describe them as "fabulous" at age 4. She dismissed this portrayal as "entirely fake," criticizing Musk's account of her childhood as "completely made up."

Wilson's response highlighted her feelings of being misrepresented and criticized Musk's views on queer people and children.
