Rohan Mirchandani, the co-founder of Epigamia, a prominent Indian Greek yogurt brand, passed away at the age of 42 following a cardiac arrest. The tragic news was confirmed by Drums Food International, the parent company of Epigamia.

In an official statement, the company expressed deep sorrow over the loss, describing Rohan as a mentor, friend, and leader. "We are committed to upholding Rohan’s vision and values as we continue to build on the foundation he created. His dream will remain our guiding light," the statement read.

Epigamia’s daily operations will now be overseen by senior leaders Ankur Goel, the Chief Operating Officer and Founding Member, and Uday Thakker, Co-founder and Director. Both leaders will work closely with the Board of Directors, which includes Rohan’s family members, Raj Mirchandani, and key investors such as Verlinvest and DSG Consumer Partners.

Rohan Mirchandani, an alumnus of NYU Stern School of Business and The Wharton School, co-founded Drums Food International in 2013. Initially focused on the Hoki Poki ice cream line, the company pivoted to launch Epigamia, which has since become a household name in India. Under his leadership, the brand achieved widespread success, with products available in over 20,000 retail outlets across 30 cities.

Mirchandani’s entrepreneurial vision extended beyond Indian markets, with plans to expand Epigamia’s footprint into the Middle East by 2025-26. He also aimed to grow the company’s annual revenue to ₹250 crore by FY25 and strengthen its presence in the quick commerce segment.

Rohan often spoke about his inspiration to innovate in India’s FMCG sector, citing a pivotal lecture during his business school days. His untimely demise adds to the recent losses in India’s startup community, following the deaths of Pepperfry co-founder Ambareesh Murty and Rohan Malhotra of Good Capital.

Rohan’s contributions to India’s FMCG landscape will be remembered, as Epigamia’s team pledges to carry forward his legacy with dedication and resilience.
