Full List of Ministers Who Took Oath in Narendra Modi's Third Term as Prime Minister

Narendra Modi, the leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive term on Sunday. This is a significant event as it marks the first time since Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister, that a Prime Minister has returned for a third term. A total of 72 leaders were inducted into the Modi 3.0 ministry on this historic day.

The new Cabinet includes 30 Cabinet ministers, five Ministers of State with Independent Charge, and 36 Ministers of State.

Among those sworn in were:

Rajnath Singh: Continues his role from the previous government, previously serving as Union Defence Minister.
Amit Shah: Retains his position after serving as the Union Home Minister in the Modi 2.0 government.
Nitin Gadkari: Continues his role, having previously served as Union Minister of Road and Transport.
JP Nadda: The BJP national chief, is a new entrant to the Cabinet.

The NDA secured 293 out of 543 seats in the 2024 Lok Sabha election, with the BJP winning 240 seats. Despite being short of the majority mark of 272, the NDA coalition enabled Narendra Modi to return as Prime Minister for a third term.
